I want to let you know how thrilled I am to be working at
Mission. Mission High has played an important part in my
life; I was once a student at Mission and a proud member of
the class of 1993. Mission is and has always been an
outstanding educational institution. I am lucky to be
working at Mission and you are lucky to be students at such
an outstanding school.
I have been
teaching 5th and 6th graders at Gomes
Elementary for the past 8 years. Now I have the unique
opportunity to re-connect with students and families that I
knew several years ago. That said, I also look forward to
meeting all of the new students and families with whom I
will work. This year I will be responsible for the
sophomore class and 9th graders with last names
A-L.
High school
offers many opportunities for academic and personal growth.
Four years may seem like a long time but it will pass
quickly. Take advantage of every opportunity you have to
learn something new. Additionally, make sure you meet new
people, join clubs, or try out for a sport. These are years
for trying things you have never tried before. Go to a
dance, cheer for the Warriors at a football game, or join a
club that piques your interest. Regret is often a wasted
emotion, so make sure that when you graduate from Mission
you leave knowing you dont have any regrets. Lastly, I
would like remind each of you to keep up with all of your
academic endeavors, perform service learning hours, and to
make responsible and ethical choices. High school and the
work you attempt can be overwhelming so please remember to
take time for yourselves and have fun on this journey
through MSJ.
I entered the
field of education with the goal of helping students achieve
at their maximum levels. My commitment to that goal is
stronger today than ever before. Please do not hesitate to
contact me if there is anything I can do for you.
