| Course Code: GSIP | Unit value: 10 units |
| Prerequisite: C or better in Spanish 2 | Course open to 9-12 graders |
Description: Spanish 3 will expand on the students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. It's an intermediate class with emphasis on increasing students' vocabulary and grammar skills. True competence in a foreign language cannot be attained without simultaneous development of the awareness of the culture in which the language is spoken. Through vocabulary presentations, readings, captioned visuals, and guided activities, the Spanish 3 text, Buen Viaje, provides fundamental knowledge about such topics as travel and tourism, the media, leisure and pastimes, among many others. Students are always encouraged to compare and contrast what they learn about Spanish culture with their own, thereby learning to think critically and progress towards a more mature vision of the world.
