Mission San Jose High School :: Fremont, California

On Wednesday, September 27^th, Mission San Jose had its MVAL season opener against American at Mission. Although each division race was close and exciting, the JV Girls were the only group with a team victory thanks to strong performances from Zoe Lu, Anna Kim, Irene Tang, Yelda Mundu, Meng Wu, Elizabeth Ruvalcaba and Anna Liu. In the boys frosh/soph race Justin Soong with a time of 12:07 posted the fastest 2 mile time of any other Mission runner. David Pereira led the Mission runners in the boy’s junior varsity race with a time of 12:15. Chelsea Kitta and Katherine Eve completed the 3 mile course in 20:07 and 20:19, but the American girls squeaked out a 25-30 victory. On the boys varsity side Trevor Addison won the race in a time of 16:07 followed closely by Nelson Yu 16:23. Even with the strong performance of Christian Kang, American managed to win with a score of 27-31.
