Webcat logo Glenmoor's online catalog can be accessed from school or home. Go to the above link, which is a link to the district library page. This page also has links for homework help, dictionaries and literature lists for each grade level. For webcat access, click on the gray square. Then click on Glenmoor, and it will bring up a search screen. Type in the name, author, or subject and click "search everything". It will then bring up all books in our library pertaining to your search and will tell you whether they are in "stacks" (on the shelf), or checked out.

Bookfair:

We have one Scholastic Bookfair in the fall. The money raised from the fair is used to purchase books and supplies for the library. The state has cut school library funding drastically in recent years and is currently less than $1 per student. Therefore, the majority of our funding to support our library comes directly from bookfair profit.

Wildcat Birthday Book Club:

This is a great way to celebrate your child's birthday while helping to increase library resources for all students. Money is donated in the child's name and book(s) are purchased with a bookplate put inside the front cover to show who's birthday is being celebrated! Forms are available year around from the library. Return your donations either to the library or to your child's teacher, marked attn: LIBRARY.

California Young Reader Medal Program:

CYRM logo

These are book awards given to books that are chosen by the students of California. The California Library Association reviews many books over a years period and several are selected in various age categories. Participating schools can then read the books to the students , who after hearing all the stories, vote on their favorites in early spring. The results are sent in and the winners announced in May. Glenmoor's students in grades 1-3 participate.

As always, volunteers are needed to help shelve books in the library and assist in other tasks as well, such as covering books, or repairing damaged volumes. Training is provided. Contact Mrs. Castillou at ccastillou@fremont.k12.ca.us for more information. Or just stop by and say hello!

Thank you for all you do for our Library! We couldn't do it without the help of our volunteers!
