Fremont Unified School District News Release

Anonymous Residency Tip Line Fremont, CA (March 6, 2008) - Fremont Unified School District has established an Anonymous Residency Tip Line (510-659-2550) for families, staff and students to report possible residency violations.

The tip line is an expansion of efforts already in place to identify and investigate residency violations and ensure that Fremont schools are only attended by students living in the corresponding attendance areas and within the District.

Callers to the tip line are asked to leave the names of suspected residency violators, their grade levels, schools, home addresses and any other relevant information that would aid in an investigation.  Calls will not be returned, however, every tip will be fully investigated.

Students in Fremont have the right to attend schools in their attendance area, said Val Williams, Director of Pupil Services.  This tip line is intended to ensure that Fremont families have full access to educational opportunities offered by the Fremont Unified School District.

Students caught falsifying their residency will be returned to their home school or will be disenrolled and returned to their home district.  In addition, families who falsify residency will lose privileges for any future district transfers.
