Parent Representative Advisory Assembly

PRAA meetings are usually on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the FUSD Education Center at 4210 Technology Drive. The Board Room is accessible through the north entrance.

The Parent Representative Advisory Assembly (PRAA) provides a place for parents to

discuss important district issues with other involved parents, to advise the Superintendent

and Board about issues of interest to parents and to bring timely, accurate information

from the district back to their school sites. A PRAA representative and an alternate are

elected from each school site. PRAA meets each month for two hours with the

Superintendent. Board members attend the meetings whenever possible.

PRAA meetings are held in the FUSD Board Room @ 4210 Technology Drive @ 7 p.m.

unless otherwise noted.

Please check the FUSD website for the meeting schedule for the school year and for any

changes that may arise.

All parents are welcome to apply. Whether you are helping a kindergartner learn the ropes or

anticipating the graduation of a senior, your perspective and ideas are valuable.

The PRAA has provided key input to Board decisions and policies on:

A $157 million Health and Safety Bond

Equity issues in programs and facilities

Character education

Communication

The PRAA also has advised the Board and informed parents about dozens of other issues,

including, testing, budgets, curriculum, extra-curricular activities, magnet programs, technology,

legislative issues, gifted programs, technology, emergency supplies in schools and community

awareness on gang activity, just to name a few.

To apply to represent your school on the Parent Representative Advisory Assembly, please

complete the application form on the reverse side of this flier and return it to your school office.
