SENIORS WHO QUALIFIED FOR THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY, Please pick up your gold cords from Ms. Krishna’s room in B 23 at lunch Thursday May 16.

SENIORS: BUY YOUR GRAD NITE TICKETS BEFORE JUNE 19TH!!!. Grad Nite tickets are $160 now; price at the door is $200 CASH ONLY. Do not delay! Ticket Order and Clubsport Waiver forms are available on the MSJ website or from Mrs. Walvick’s desk. Sign, attach payment and turn both forms into the Grad Nite mailbox in the office. Join in the fun and party for the final night with you Senior classmates!

REMINDER TO SENIORS ATTENDING GRAD NITE: Please pick up the white and red paper from Ms. Walvick so that parents can create the Photo Museum Collage. Details can be found on the MSJHS website under Students and Grad Nite. The deadline for turning in collages is Friday, June 7th

STUDENTS ARE NOT TO LEAVE CAMPUS WITHOUT AN OFF GROUNDS PASS. See your attendance clerk before leaving campus and after you return. Should there be an emergency on campus, we need to know you are safely here.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Dress code requirements are in effect as the weather gets warmer. For example, shorts and skirts are to be mid thigh and all shirts and tops must have sleeves (i.e. no tank tops or sleeveless tops.) Any hats worn on campus must say MSJHS or they will be collected. The parking lot is off limits during the school day especially during breaks and students may not linger in their cars during lunch.

CAREER CENTER

 

SENIORS:  Did you turn in your award or scholarship form?  Please be sure to send it to Mrs. Aldinger and attach a copy of your letter, award or certificate to the form.  Forms that are submitted without a copy of the award or scholarship will not be entered in the Graduation Program.  The deadline to submit your proof of award or scholarship is today, May 16.

 

MILITARY VISIT: Today during lunch, a representative from the Army will be on campus to speak to interested students during lunch in the quad.

 

LEGAL SUMMER INTERNSHIP:  This summer, GJEL Accident Attorneys will be launching an internship program designed to give high school students an in-depth look at what it means to be a lawyer.  The internship is unpaid and takes place during the week of July 22 for one week.  For more information go to:  www.gjel.com/news/gjel-summer-internship-program.html.   If you have any questions contact Jane White at jane@gjel.com or internships@gjel.com.

 

JUNIORS MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE UC ADMISSIONS PRESENTATION:  On Thursday, May 23 during lunch in C-120 an admissions representative from UC Berkeley will enlighten student’s regarding steps to apply to the UC.  Use these great workshop suggestions in order to help you prepare to apply in the fall.  

 

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN AN INTERNSHIP IN ENGINEERING, MEDICINE OR BUSINESS?  Attend an information session regarding Project SuitUp on Tuesday, May 28 during lunch.  Learn about Project SuitUp’s Summer Conferences in which you will meet influential mentors to develop skills needed to qualify for professional internships in high school.

 

PUBLIC SPEAKING AND LEADERSHIP SUMMER PROGRAM:  SLI started in 2011 as a Public Speaking and Leadership course taught at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.  Communication and public speaking skills are essential for every career.
