All About Us

Weibel is a school in which all children will learn in a supportive environment that values the individuality of each student.  The school strives to produce responsible citizens who are not only well educated, but well rounded, and active in the community.

Built in1987, Weibel is nestled in the foothills of Fremont. When you arrive on campus the sights and sounds of another exciting day surround you.  Parents and teachers are mingling while students are laughing and playing.  Activity can be seen seven days a week, before and after school, with a multitude of things occurring at this community minded school.  As the neighboring community continues to expand, Weibel continues to maintain its small school atmosphere.  Weibel is a family of learners, educators, and parents.  We believe that school is the center of the community; the family, the core of learning; and education, the foundation for success.

Weibel is a beautiful school with an extraordinary character.  One of the newer elementary schools in Fremont, serving 700 students, Weibel reflects the diverse population of the city.  In addition to educational excellence, we embrace the diversity that is highly visible and reflected by parents, students and staff working collaboratively to establish and maintain traditions.  Native dress, a multitude of languages, and differing cultural practices and values can be seen and heard daily.  We enrich our state standardized curriculum with many extra-curricular activities such as the International/Heritage Feasts, Cultural Week, and many international celebrations which enhance our curriculum and celebrate our students uniqueness.

Our aim is to develop a well rounded child. We want to find ways for each child to feel successful, which is an agreed upon value by staff and parents.  Parents in the classroom are common-place. Enthusiastic and supportive parents volunteer daily maintaining their commitment to the school and the development of the well-rounded child.  Achieving State standards is just the base expectation for each student. Our goal is that each student will not only exceed academic state standards, but become accepting, well-rounded, intellectually curious, environmentally sensitive, and socially conscious life-long learners.  Children can participate and find avenues for success in academic arenas that enhance the curriculum such as Chess Club, Math Club, Science Expeditions, Figure It Out Fridays, Science and Literacy Nights, and Family Math Night.  To support and help children to find balance in their development, Weibel students can participate in sports teams, band, Chinese School, Indian Language classes, Debate Club and the Library Book Club.  Our students have support from the YMCA's Y-Kids after school if this service is needed by their parents.  It is through our dedication to meeting the needs of each child in all areas of their development that weve created a vibrant environment in which all children find success, pride, and growth.

Thirty-two outstanding, dedicated teachers from diverse backgrounds work diligently together to promote excellence in and out of the classroom.  This phenomenal staff includes many teachers with advanced training. Our teachers routinely attend workshops and college classes to enhance their teaching skills for professional growth.  It is these highly educated individuals that maintain the important balance between academic and social-emotional achievements.

Our vision specifically states that we will embrace uniqueness and develop a well-rounded child. We believe that meeting the state standards is just the beginning for our students.  It is with this focus and the forethought that our goal be one that encourages and promotes our students success in all areas of their life.
