| Principal's Message May 10, 2013 Congratulations to Anish P., Parkmont’s 6th grader, for finishing in the top ten spellers for the State of California! We send congratulations to Sahir Q., Niles' 6th grader, for finishing in first place as the California State Spelling Champion! Bike-to-School on Thursday was a HUGE success! 63 students rode their bikes to school which means they helped the earth and got exercise. I want to thank Malini and her committee of parents and students for helping the bikers find a place to lock their bikes! We need to create a better place for our students' bikes. Let’s work on that next year. The planning for Parkmont’s 50th Anniversaryis in full swing, and we need your help. Please come onTuesday, May 22 @ 3-4 pm, in the library to be part of the planning. It is exciting to think of a grand party to see the past teachers, staff members and students. The date will be announced in June. STAR testing started this week for some grades and will go through May 22. Please support your student by encouraging them to do their best and then not worry about it. This can be a stressful time for students so please do not put more pressure on them. PTA organized a great Retirement party for Lacy White, daytime custodian, during lunch time in April so students could serenade him and give him plenty of hugs. We wish him well in his retirement. We have a new team of custodians so please welcome them to our Parkmont Community: · - Day Custodian :: Dorinda Ball
- Night Custodian :: Lennie Mendes
- Night Custodian :: Deborah Siliga
Just Serve, under the leadership of Ms. Bodily, had50-60 volunteers come to Parkmont on April 20. They painted the map of the United States on the blacktop by the garden, painted the lines in front of the office and weeded, trimmed and weeded some more until the grounds looked great. It is overwhelming to have such fantastic community support and to see our campus sparkle. Thank you, Ms. Bodily, for your work in bringing so many volunteers to Parkmont. I wish you well this month of May.. -Marianne Schmidt Parkmont's Open House You are cordially invited to attend Parkmont's Open House, June 4th - BBQ and Chorus : 5:30-7:30 pm.

Teacher Request Policy Please be aware that we do not accept requests for teachers. Parkmont teachers do an excellent job teaching your children. We take special care in balancing our classrooms and try to meet all our students’ needs. The policy is: If your child has special needs that you feel we may not be aware of and must be considered as we do our class placements, you may communicate that to us by filling out a form that will be available in the office from May 13th – May 24h. In order to be fair to everyone, no other letters or phone calls will be accepted. Please note that no forms will be accepted after May 24th. Please seal the form in an envelope addressed to Ms. Schmidt and drop it off in the office. Editor - Babita Sharma Send Questions & Comments |
