As the 2012-13 year comes to a close, I reflect on the accomplishments of all our students.  Oliveira's
API saw a continued growth of 21 points brining the score to 889.  This was completed because of
teachers, students, parents and community members.  Educating a child is a TEAM effort and every day,
every year all participants are required to bring their "A" game. The Theme for the Oliveira campus this year
was TRANSPARENCY with all players being visible.  As I have stated in a previous newsletter, the "Introduction"
portion of these children's books are being written by all of us.  They will have the opportunity to begin Chapter 1
around the age of 10.  However, it is important for us to work together during the introductory phase so that the first
Chapter can begin on a positive note.  We began our school year listening to the song recorded by our staff that is
titled S.O.A.R.! As the students watched 12 White Doves fly to their home in Napa, they were reminded that Safety,
Ownership, Attitude and Respect are the 4 key elements of our school.  "There is always going to be another mountain"
to climb and in order to make it move, students/parents/educators need a firm partnership.  The task of educating a
fully rounded child cannot be taken lightly.  I consider it an honor to be able to serve in the capacity of Principal for our
"Community" School.  We all care about the future of these children and goals are accomplished because WE WORK
TOGETHER!!

As Dr. Seuss states, "Kids, you'll move mountain.  TODAY IS YOUR DAY!  YOUR MOUNTAIN IS WATING.  SO....GET ON YOUR WAY!
Have an enjoyable summer with these precious children.

Thank you for your continue encouragement of READING, PLAYING GAMES, THINKING CREATIVELY AND the pure joy of BEING A CHILD.

In order for students to progress forward they need to learn to perform in a globally competitive market. Teachers throughout Oliveira use many strategies to assist students with this growth:
