California Young Reader Medal Nominees for 2011 - These books are read aloud to the students and then each class will vote for their favorite. The State winners are announced later in the year.

General Guidelines:

1st, 2nd& 3rd Grade students may check out 2 books every week. Books are checked out for a 1 week loan period. Kindergarten students check out 1 book for 1 night. Please remind them to have clean hands when handling books, and treat the books gently. Ask your child what day their class visits the library, and remind them to return their books on time.
Books are due the day before they visit the library.

Parents are encouraged to check out books during posted hours. Please wait outside until the final class is dismissed. Parents may check out 5 books, due in 1 week. The books cannot be from the same series or author. Refer to the above schedule for check-out times for your grade level.

Please follow the schedule and use the library during parent check out times ONLY.

Please help your child to remember when books are due, otherwise they will not be able to check out more books until the books are returned. Bills are processed for any books out for more than a month. Prices are set by the district.

Leitch's Scholastic Book Fair Website - Next fair will be in April 2013.  The September Bookfair sold $12,500, netting a profit of ~ $3500.

Volunteers Welcome!

We are always in need of volunteers to help shelve the hundreds of books that are returned each day. I check out approximately 1500 books per week. Additional help is needed repairing books and covering paperbacks. Book fairs are a great time to help the library for a short term basis. Volunteers are encouraged to just drop in on a Monday or Tuesday and say "how can I help?"

Thank you very much to all the families that have donated books to the library last year and to our many wonderful volunteers!
