Band & Orchestra
Strike up the band! The MSJ Band combines its talents with IHS's school band to create one formidable band that performs at football games, concert halls, and festive parades. The MSJ Orchestra is filled with string instrumentalists that play mellifluous music at all the concerts the MSJ Band does, and has grown into a respectable group since it's establishment only a few years ago.

Colorguard
Interested in whirling flags and guns in coordination with music? MSJ Colorguard does just that, and having won many honors across the state, has become one of the most intriguing aspects of our school. Tryouts for the Colorguard team are at the end of the year.

Concert Choir and Chamber Chorale
For those who have a knack for singing, there are two great classes that can be found on Mission that can fulfill everyone's singing desire. For the singers who feel they need some more experience in singing and reading music, there is Concert Choir. And for those who have greatly improved in the field of singing (or those inherently talented), auditions are held at the end of the school year for inclusion into the prestigious Chamber Chorale. Chamber students sing beautiful pieces in up to eight-part harmony and performs concerts from the Bay Are to Orange County (on their annual chorale tour) through out the year.

Gravel Pit
Gravel Pit is a breakdancing club, team, and really the social gathering of hip-hop/breakdancing enthusiasts. In our club we encourage practicing and dedication to the art and culture of hip-hop and breaking. Anyone is welcome to join or watch. We promote the success of others and allow beginners a chance to learn this incredible art and its culture.

Impromptu
What distinguishes this club from other music programs is that the Impromptu encourages the innovative aspect of music - i.e. composition - and the collaboration of small music groups that range from a duet to a chamber orchestra, depending on the number of musicians and the level of skills. Public performance, an essential part of the club, not only promotes students to become more active in the community but also provides a unique opportunity to play or sing their own compositions and those of their favorite composers within small ensembles. Join us for a year of endless musical creativity

Mission Guitar
Mission Guitar offers an opportunity for guitar enthusiasts to come and boost their musical skills. Our club will provide lessons from experienced players who will help increate talent and ability. Members will be introduced to the performing environment through events and club activities. Whether you can play or not, come and see because our Mission: guitar.

Universal Performers
Contrary to popular belief, the Universal Performers do not actually perform around the universe, for it is simply too big for us to cover. Actually, being a UP member does not require you to be an active performing arts member at all! The only requirement is that you love the performing arts (as an audience member or performer). Whether it be Band, Theatre, Choral Music or Technical Theatre, UP has a place for everyone. A few of its wonderful benefits include discounts on the Fall Play, Spring Musical and our Annual Jazz Dance hosted at the Marriott Hotel. In addition to discounts, as a UP member you are eligible to join us on thrilling and informative field trips three times a year to San Francisco So if you love performing, watching performers or just love the universe, come to the Little Theater any or every Monday and join the fun that is UP!
