Volunteering with the PTA
The PTA is always busy, so it always needs helpful hands! Why not volunteer to help for an event that interests you?
Many of our events are held on the weekends or evenings, and coming to assist for a couple of hours is very rewarding. Students are always very happy to see their parents or the parents of their classmates at any event, and their excitement is contagious!
To volunteer for an event or school project
There are several ways that you can volunteer for PTA projects or events. First, at the start of the school year and at the first Back to School night, the PTA will have a sign-up form for volunteers for all the events and projects that scheduled for the year, such as Halloween Carnival, Room Parent, Red Ribbon Week, etc. A PTA member will contact you as the date for the event approaches, to check your availability and ways that you would like to help.
Second, PTA flyers, the weekly Thursday folder and the Patterson PTA Facebook page have notifications for upcoming events that need volunteers or supplies. Just contact the event chairperson to participate or donate.
Lastly, feel free to contact the PTA Board and President through their listed contact information or through the school office. You can also come to any PTA meeting, since is this is where many of the events are initially scheduled. The PTA Board members would be pleased to answer your questions or list you as a volunteer.
If you are unable to volunteer your time, your donations of money or goods for an event or school program are always appreciated and go a long way in assisting Patterson and the PTA!
