Parchment Student Registration Process
About Parchment:
Starting this fall, you will be able to request transcripts through this system. Parchment provides electronic submission of transcripts to universities.
The system provides you with the ability to request transcripts through Parchment. Transcripts requested online are sent securely to the colleges, universities, or scholarship funds that you select.
You may track your request online, and you will also receive an email notification when we approve your transcript request, and again when your transcript is mailed (or delivered electronically, based on the delivery preference of the destination that you selected).
First, go to "Academic Destinations" in your Parchment account that you have established with a user name and password. (Keep this information in a safe place for your reference).
Next, make sure that you select the "Common Application" Tab when you request transcripts be sent to all private universities that are Common Application members. If you are unsure about which colleges are part of the Common Application, please go to:www.commonapp.org. There is one flat fee for ALL Common Application Members when ordering transcripts, so if you apply to the cap of 10 universities, and they are all Common Application members, you only pay one fee!
For private universities that request transcripts that are NOT a part of the Common Application, select the individual university, such as MIT. Only colleges and universities that are NOT part of the Common Application will need an individual transcript request to that specific university. There are 456 universities that are part of the Common Application, and most of the colleges to which you apply will be listed as members. Make sure that all colleges to which you apply are part of the Common Application BEFORE you send and pay for the individual transcript request to another university that is NOT a part of the Common Application. Colleges and universities that have their own Mid-Year report and are NOT part of Common App will need to be completed by the counselor, so please download these and supply Mrs. Faust with the appropriate envelopes and mid-year reports that these universities require, such as MIT.
Mid-Year Transcript Process:
Request your Mid-Year Transcript be sent to either the Common Application OR to the individual university that is NOT a part of the Common Application near the end of January. Mrs. Faust will only process these requests near the time that first semester ends. Transcripts will be attached to the Mid-Year Report that counselors will complete for you through the Common Application, and they will be sent after all grades are posted, approximately during the second week of February. All universities to which you have applied that are NOT part of the Common Application will also be sent to the individual university BUT you will need to supply the envelopes with addresses so that counselors can fill out the reports for these universities and mail them, such as MIT.
Final Transcript Process: Seniors need to follow these basic instructions for sending final transcripts. Counselors are only able to answer questions regarding transcripts up until June 14, 2012. All email addresses are listed in the pdf if you need to contact us.
Best of luck to the Class of 2012!!!
