Student Council Dance a Thon
Student Council's Dance-A-Thon sponsor sheets and permission slips slated for Wednesday February 22 from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in the cafeteria. Permissions slips are required for the after school event and no student will be allowed in without one. Students are to bring the permission slip and sponsor sheets the day of the Dance-A-Thon, no excuses. We are having a DJ who will play songs that have dance steps to them, for example, The Twist, The Macarena, The Cha Cha Slide, etc. The idea behind this is to make sure no student feels uncomfortable dancing. If everyone is dancing the same steps it will more comfortable for them. :) This is open to ALL grades.
Our goal is to raise enough money to buy and new flag pole and pinic tables (the ones that are really messed up). Parent Education Nights in Full Swing
We have had two successful parent education sessions so far this year and are looking forward to more. Thanks to Ms. Rasch and Mrs. Ramos, parents saw slides and learn all about Science Camp. Mrs. Willer and Mrs. Matsuoka organized a very interesting Crime Prevention and Gang Awareness session presented by the Fremont Police Department.
On February 28 from 6:30-8:00, we will be offering a Homework Help evening. Teachers and other speakers will be presenting on a variety of topics to help you better support your students with their homework. There will be different topics presented in different classrooms across campus. The format of the evening will enable you to select sessions that interest you and rotate across rooms. Childcare will be available.
On March 6th, Mr. Steven Musto, Principal of Horner Junior High, will be here to discuss how to prepare your student for junior high. Even if your child is not in 6th grade this year, you will find this session very informative. Mark your calendars and plan to attend these interesting evening sessions!

Science Lab Update Our Science Lab continues to move toward completion. The wiring and plumbing are all done, along with insulation. We are looking forward to adding walls, workstations, and floors. We still expect to be moved in and using our lab before the end of the year. Very exciting!
The first day of school next school year will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Please plan your summer vacation so your children are in school on the first day. It is School Board policy that students must be in school on the first day or risk losing their seat to students on the overload list. You are welcome to contact the Green office with questions.
Spring Fundraiser Candy Sale – World’s Finest Chocolates
Please support our annual school fundraiser. All items are $6.00 prepaid. Packets are going home February 16th, 2012 and are due back March 1, 2012. All profits will be used to purchase new picnic tables for the lunch area. We will accept monetary donations.
New Student Registration 2012-2013:
Registration Packets are now available in the school office. Stop by the school office between 8am and 4pm to pick up a new student registration packet.
Continuing Student Registration:
The annual reservation form will be mailed home mid February 2012, please remember to keep a utility bill and property tax bill or rent receipt. Two proofs are mandatory to hold your child's spot for the 2012-2013 school year.

Cash for Class - Please keep saving your Fremont Hub receipts. Receipts can be no more than 60 days old to count for the contest.
