Dear Parents and Guardians,

There are two groups of individuals that do a lot of bucket filling for every one of us at Gomes.  The office staff is the first group as they are an integral part of our team and help make the school run smoothly.  They were honored on Administrative Professionals’ Day last week.  Thank you to these ladies; Mrs. Deigner, Mrs. Kruschke, and Mrs. Lim.

The other group is the teachers and we will recognize them during the week of May 6-10.  Our dedicated and hard-working teaching staff is the best!  Please join in with me to show your appreciation to teachers and the office staff.

Please be reminded that STAR testing for all 2nd through 6th grade students will be May 9-22.  Remember that good sleeping and eating habits will always help the students to do their very best.  Please also avoid scheduling any doctor or dentist appointments so the students can be here to take the test in the regular classroom setting.

AttentionParents of 6th Grade Students

For the 2013/2014 school year, California Law (AB 354) requires an additional immunization called Tdap in order for your student to advance to or enter 7th grade. The adolescent whooping cough/pertussis booster shot, (Tdap) must be given on or after age 7 to meet this requirement.

Valid proof must show: 1) type of shot given, 2) date, 3)provider’s signature/stamp

You can provide proof to Gomes School up until the last day of school.

If parents have not provided proof to their school by the first day of school, August 28,2013,

your studentwill NOT be allowed to attend.

HELP DESIGN SCHOOLS OF THE FUTURE

Fremont schools are among the highest performing schools in the area. We work hard to provide our students the best learning environment with our limited facilities budget. Many of our schools are in need a major repair and modernization to prepare students for a 21st century education. On January 23, 2013, the Board of Education approved the development of a Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP) to guide facilities decisions for the next decade. The plan will help us make decisions about how to best use our funds and explore other funding sources such as a school bond campaign in 2014. Click HERE for more information.
