 The STAR test begins on Thursday, May 9. However, we will be preparing for the big day all week. Please help your child get a good night's sleep, at least 8 hours, eat a protein based breakfast, and arrive to school on time.  Testing continues through May 22.

 

  We are ending our reading Unit 5: Growing and Changing. Students are finishing up their buddy realistic fiction story this week. Next week they will take the Unit Theme test and complete the unit writing assessment prior to the STAR. Life Cycle Step Books are due this Friday and will be shared next week.  Ask what animal has completed the life cycle in our room.

    

  We jumped ahead to Unit 11 in math to help review multiplication, division, regrouping addition and subtraction. Students are using various strategies to help them solve math problems. Ask your child to show you some on the strategies he/she has learned.

 

As the weather gets warmer, tempers tend to rise. Please remind your child to use positive language to solve problems.

 

 

Continue to talk with your child about their day to find out all that is happening in room 23.
